Premium Payment Customizations
The plan offers flexible premium payment terms, including:
Single Pay – One-time premium payment.
Limited Pay – Options of 5, 8, 10, or 12 years.
Regular Pay – Premiums paid throughout the policy term.
Payment frequencies available: Annual, Half-yearly, and Monthly.
Revival Option
Policies can be revived within five years from the first unpaid premium.
Tax Benefits
Premiums and payouts qualify for tax exemptions as per prevailing tax laws.
Exclusions
Death due to suicide within 12 months from risk commencement or revival date will result in a refund of at least 80% of total premiums paid.
No benefits will be paid if death occurs due to participation in hazardous sports or pastimes.
Death due to involvement in unlawful or criminal activities will not be covered.
Any pre-existing condition diagnosed within 36 months before policy issuance or reinstatement is excluded.
No benefits for death occurring due to war, invasion, riots, or civil commotion.
Death caused by self-inflicted injury, suicide attempt, or intentional self-harm is excluded.
Any injury or death caused while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or psychotropic substances not prescribed by a medical practitioner is excluded.
Death due to exposure to nuclear, biological, or chemical radiation is not covered.
Participation in military, naval, or air force operations during peacetime will not be covered.
Exclusions
Accidental Death - The HDFC Life Accidental Death,Disability, and Dismemberment Rider provides financial protection to your family in the event of an accident that results in disability,Dismemberment and death.
Critical Illness - A Lump Sum is offered in case the policyholder is diagnosed with any of the 19 critical illnesses.

If you smoke
An underwriting extra premium may be charged in case of Sub-standard lives and Smokers as per prevalent Underwriting policy.
Note :
Suicide Clause : If the life assured dies by suicide within 12 months from the date of risk commencement or policy revival, the policy becomes void. In such cases, the nominee or beneficiary will receive at least 80% of the total premiums paid up to the date of death or the available surrender value, whichever is higher, provided the policy is active.
Free look up period: Policyholders have 15 days (30 days if the policy is sourced through distance marketing) from the date of receipt of the policy document to review the terms and conditions. If not satisfied, the policy can be returned for a refund of the premium paid, minus proportionate risk premium for the period on cover, expenses incurred on medical examination (if any), and stamp duty charges.
Grace Period: A grace period of 15 days is provided for monthly premium payment mode, and 30 days for other modes, from the premium due date. During this period, the policy remains in force, and benefits are payable.
